bursaries from the National Treasury – South Africa

The National Treasury is looking at sponsoring/awarding bursaries to  2 students doing Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Accounting or Information Technology.  Please note the below points in clarifying what they are looking at, and the criteria for these bursaries:

 

  • National Treasury will award 2 bursaries in total  and these bursaries are open to all races and both genders.
  • The Department is looking at sponsoring 1 BCom Logistics/Supply Chain Management and 1 BCom Financial Management or BCom Accounting students or National Diploma IT
  • The Year of Study should be 2nd year in 2023
  • The National Treasury will cover the following costs as part of its commitment towards these bursaries:
    1. Registration fee;
    2. Tuition fees;
    3. Prescribed study material/textbooks;
    4. University residence or private accommodation accredited and approved by the University;
    5. Meals; and
    6. Monthly allowance

 

  • We would  like you to send us 5 applications per field of study as stated above (20 applications in total) that meet the criteria below, and we will shortlist a suitable number that will be interviewed.  National Treasury will handle the rest of the recruitment process from then, and will enter into the contractual obligations/agreements with the successful individual students.  The following criteria will be used for the applicants:

 

  • Must be a South African citizen (Please attach the certified ID copy)
  • Must have a Grade 12 certificate with an exemption or an aggregate of 65% or higher as reflected on the applicant’s matric results (Please attach a copy of the statement of results)
  • Must be doing 1st year in 2022 and in 2023 the applicant must be studying BCom Logistics, BCom Financial Management or BCom Accounting (2nd year) (Please attach the proof of registration for 2022)
  • Must have obtained an academic average of 65% and higher in their 1st year of study, as stated above (Please attach the official academic record or mid-year results)
  • Must be in a financial need as demonstrated by the proof of income of the applicant’s parents/guardians.  The combined gross income should not exceed R303,261.00 per annum.  (Please attach the payslip/proof of income).  If there is no proof of income for both parents/guardians, please attach the affidavit which has a commissioner of oath stamp or if one or both parents are deceased, please attach certified death certificate/s,
  • Must not have any form of sponsorship or bursary,
  • Please note that students with disabilities are preferred
  • In addition to the above mentioned documents highlighted in yellow, we also need the following:

o   A fully completed bursary application form (it’s attached)

o   Certified ID copies of the parents/guardians

 

Can we please receive all the application forms with all the supporting documents by 06 December 2022 as we are planning to conduct the panel interviews before 15 December 2022.
