What is RSGames
RSGames is a collection of board, dice and card games that is accessible by both sighted and blind people. I have been playing RSGames since 2009 so, they’re about 11 years old. And I’m turning 33 next year; lol.
It is a multiplayer client. This means that you can play against other people, online.
There are clients for Apple’s iOS, Apple’s Mac OS and Microsoft’s Windows operating systems.
All of the clients are free except for the Apple iOS client. Here, unfortunately, you have to pay for each and every game in the collection. However, there is a seven day trial available for you to test the games before making a purchase.
If you are cheap like me, just use the Windows client or play online.
It must be noted that the apps does not provide any visual text output so, if you are not blind and using a screen reader like VoiceOver, NVDA, etc. you will not benefit from using the clients. If you are sighted and want to be able to access the games, you’d have to use the web client.
The web client can be accessed from the following link: http://zanosoft.net/ZGP-WEB
So, what games are included?
As of this writing, there are 26 games available. They are:
- 1000 Miles
- Shut the Box
- Apples to Apples
- Zombie Dice
- I Doubt It
- Cards Against Humanity
- Toss Up
- Slot Machines
- Go Fish
- Left, Center, Right
Is it easy to use?
I’m a rather average guy and I’ve never had any difficulties in installing or using any of the clients. The downloads are small and the app is extremely light on resources.
Okay, okay! You’ve convinced me! Where can I download the various clients?
Remember that the clients are useless if you are sighted. If you also want to participate click here for the online web client.
If you are using Apple’s iOS, you can download the app from the iOS App Store.
Using Apple’s Mac OS? You can obtain the client from this link.
Running Microsoft Windows? Download the app from here.
Enjoy and see you around on RSGames!
